BRC Terminology
Remote (Target). The remote user and modem refer to the target end
of the connection which is to be reconfigured.
Local (Host). The local user and modem refer to the configuring end
of the connection from which commands are issued and result codes that are
returned when the remote modem is in BRC state. This modem is often at the
host end of the connection.
BRC State. The remote modem is ready to interpret the data stream
from the local modem as commands and to return result codes back to the
local modem.
