S9 - Carrier Recovery Time
Description
The number of deciseconds in S9 sets the time delay between a return
of carrier, in the online state, and the acceptance of the carrier. Carrier
is detected S9 time after the bit pump reports carrier present. See also
S10. The factory setting is 6 (0.6 second); the
range is 1 (0.1 second) to 255 (25.5 s). See Carrier
Detection.
Note: Answer tone and carrier detection timing during the handshake
process is not timed by S9.
