S63 - Leased-Line Transmit Level


Description
S63 selects the carrier power level in dBm for leased line operation. This register specifies a nominal carrier level value. The range for this register is 0-15 (0 dBm to -15 dBm). The factory setting is 0.

Note: Carrier level (if adjustable) may be set by other means in modems that support leased line operation. See the installation information for your modem.

This register is locked (write commands not change current value) while the modem is in the online states and normally locked in the offline command state. The register may be unlocked, changed, and locked for the offline command state by the following steps.

Step 1: Turn off modem and remove cover.

Step 2: Operate the switch (inside modem cover) intended to enable transmit level adjustment. This is usually SW2 of a DIP switch.

Step 3: Turn on modem.

Step 4: Write a new value to the register using the syntax AT S63 = nn<CR>.

Step 5: Turn off the modem.

Step 6: Move the switch to the disable position.

Step 7: Replace cover and turn on the modem. The modem will now operate with the new transmit level.
