S85 - ASU Negotiation Status
Description
S85 is a read-only register indicating whether ASU and the method negotiated
for the current connection. To read S85 issue the escape sequence to place
the modem in the command state, then issue ATS85? <CR>. The modem
reports one of the values below.
Value Meanings
0 Normal hangup from data call, no error occurred.
1 Normal hangup from FAX call.
2 Reserved
3 Reserved
4 Lost carrier
5 Feature negotiation failed to detect prescience of another error-control
modem at the remote end.
6 Other error-control modem did not respond to feature negotiation message sent
by this modem.
7 Other modem is synchronous-only, this mode is asynchronous only.
8 Modems could not find a common protocol.
9 Modems could not find a common protocol.
10 Feature negotiation message sent by remote modem is incorrect.
11 Synchronous information (data or flags) not received from other modem. Modem
waits 30 seconds before hanging up.
12 Normal disconnect initiated by remote modem.
13 Remote modem did not respond after many transmissions of the same message,
modem attempts connection 10 times before giving up.
14 Protocol violation occurred.
15 Compression failure.
16 Speed indicated by S37 did not match any of the speeds indicated by S109.
17 Hangup was due to S116 timeout.
