S91 - Select Dial-up Line Transmit Level
Description
This register selects the transmit carrier level of the modem in dBm
[into 600 ohms]. This register is only functional in certain International
(nonUS) products. The nominal output level is between 0 and 1 dB less than
the indicated level and the actual level of any unit does not exceed the
indicated level by more than 1 dB.
The value of this register is stored when written. This register is locked
(write commands do not change current value) while the modem is in the online
states and normally locked in the offline command state. The register may
be unlocked, changed, and locked for the offline command state by the following
steps:
Step 1: Turn off modem. (Remove cover first.)
Step 2: Operate the switch (inside modem cover) intended to enable
transmit level adjustment. This is usually SW2 of a DIP switch.
Step 3: Turn on modem.
Step 4: Write a new value to the register using the syntax AT S91=nn<CR>.
Step 5: Turn off the modem.
Step 6: Move the switch to the disable position.
Step 7: Replace cover and turn on the modem. The modem will now operate
with the new transmit level.
