S141 - Detection Phase Timer

Description
This register sets the V.42 detection phase timeout, T400. T400 determines how long a modem waits for an Originator Detection Pattern (ODP) or Answerer Detection Pattern (ADP) before abandoning an attempt to establish an error-correcting connection. S36 determines the action to take if the error-correcting attempt is abandoned.

An originating modem waits for the time indicated by the value of S141 to detect an ADP pattern. An answering modem waits for the indicated time to detect the ODP pattern. If the answering modem receives ODP, then the answer modem sends the ADP pattern and waits for flags for up to twice the T400 time. If flags are not detected, then the modem hangs-up.
