Summary (Transparent XON/XOFF)
Transparent XON/XOFF Flow Control functions on the interface between
the local DTE (computer or terminal) and local DCE (modem). When the data
is placed on the link between the modems, the original characters have been
restored. Neither the remote DTE nor DCE are aware, or need to be aware,
that Transparent XON/XOFF Flow Control is in use.
Transparent flow control can be viewed as a layered process, organized as
follows. This process is duplicated in the reverse direction (operates in
both directions simultaneously).
