Flow Control (Transparent XON/XOFF)
Once the XON and XOFF characters have been made transparent (hidden),
the DTE and DCE are free to insert XON and XOFF characters for flow control
purposes at any point in the data stream. This includes the possibility
of inserting XONs and XOFFs between a DLE and the following transparent
character. XON and XOFF characters in the user data do not interfere with
the flow control scheme. The operation of this XON/XOFF flow control process
is identical to traditional XON/XOFF flow control.
