Setting the Test Timer S18=
The test timer determines the duration of a test. S18, when set to a
non-zero value, establishes the duration of the modem diagnostic tests.
When a test is active for a period equal to the value chosen for this register
(from 1 to 255 seconds), the modem stops the test and returns to the command
state.
For example, if the register is set to 10 (ATS18=10<CR>), a test,
when initiated, continues for 10 seconds. Setting S18 to 0 (ATS18=0<CR>)
disables the test timer (factory setting). Tests are then terminated with
the &T0 command or by resetting the modem.
